Hi, I am trying to PXE boot a couple of new HP Probook 430 G4, in order to do this I need to Enable Legacy Support and Disable Secure boot. (BIOS > Advanced > Secure Boot Configuration). I apply the setting and go back to main, choose save and exit. Once going back to the BIOS I can see that none of the changes are saved.
My problem is the laptop I'm working on will not ALLOW you to boot up using any Usb Drive the option is not available on boot up as I posted above. You see the options in F2 and F12. USB Storage Device not being available in F12 options keeps me from from choosing that boot option even though I can set it as the First boot option in F2. Product: Pavilion 15. Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit) After replacing my son's broken HDD, I installed Windows 7 which I then upgraded to Windows 10. I find that the laptop will not boot unless the Legacy option is enabled in the BIOS. If I turn off Legacy option it won't boot and I get the message "Boot disc not found". 1. With Hp the keys vary by model but usually are. Boot Menu key esc f9. UEFI Menu key esc f10. And HP does not seem to keep changes by efibootmgr which grub uses or with most systems you can use to change boot order. They may be syncing with Windows BCD. In ntoebook BIOS everything is on default, secure boot is off, UEFI is enabled, legacy support is disabled but still USB drive is not showing up in boot menu and hence I am not able to install windows. Note : usb drive is not defected, Ihave tried it on other computers and it is showing up in other computer's bootmenu.
